WhyAfrica prepares for the 2025 WhyAfrica Road Trip

WhyAfrica is in the final stages of preparing for the 2025 WhyAfrica Road Trip.

By Leon Louw founder of WhyAfrica and editor of the WhyAfrica magazine

WhyAfrica is dusting of our equipment and cleaning our boots and camping gear in preparation for the 4th 45-day-long WhyAfrica Overland Road Trip through Africa.

With last year’s sand and grit from the South African Bushveld, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya properly down the drain, plans for the 2025 WhyAfrica Road Trip is gathering momentum.

As usual we are serving up something different this year and might just have a handful of late surprises in store.

Showcasing the best of Africa

The first leg of this year’s WhyAfrica Road Trip will take place in South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho and southern Namibia. But we have a special bonus this time – 2 shorter versions of the WhyAfrica Road Trip will take place early in 2026 to accommodate special requests from several partners, sponsors, members and advertisers.

As usual, the WhyAfrica Road Trip is more than just site visits, gathering business intelligence and camping in remote African destinations. It’s an endeavour to showcase and promote the incredible companies, people and projects shaping the future of Africa.

Spotlight on South African companies

With South Africa set to host the G20 Summit in 2025, our spotlight this year will shine even brighter on South African companies that are making an impact.

These are the trailblazers! South African companies that have already expanded their African footprint or are planning to spread their wings beyond the Limpopo River soon to make a meaningful contribution across the continent.

This year’s WhyAfrica Road Trip will once again highlight excellence in mineral exploration, mining, quarrying, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, water management, ESG, tourism, and conservation.

Elevate your brand

We’re calling on all companies operating in these critical sectors to seize this rare opportunity and to elevate your brand, promote your work to a global audience, and align your values with the future of the continent.

By partnering with WhyAfrica or sponsoring the 2025 Road Trip, you’re not just gaining exposure. You’re making a bold statement: that your company is 100% invested in Africa, its people, its potential, and its sustainable growth.

Partner with WhyAfrica

The WhyAfrica Road Trip has grown into a powerful platform for African storytelling. It brings the stories of innovation, resilience, and development to life. Stories that often go untold.

If your company is committed to the future of Africa, we want to hear from you. Join us. Partner with us. Let’s show the world the true power and potential of Africa, starting at the most southern point on the African continent.
