WhyAfrica explores the world of Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality and gaming will have a massive impact on publishing and marketing.
By Leon Louw founder of WhyAfrica and Endorphin Expeditions and editor of the WhyAfrica magazine.
I love exploring. Not only with groups of exploration geologists (my favourite people on earth) but also exploring new countries, new ideas, new technology and new innovations.
Next week I’m exploring something a little out of my comfort zone though. I’m stepping into the amazing virtual world of the Metaverse, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Gaming.
Over the last year or so I’ve asked some very intelligent people a few interesting questions and discovered in the process that it will be possible to virtually walk through my own WhyAfrica magazine.
Advertise in a VR magazine
Can you imagine that! Can you imagine visiting one of WhyAfrica’s articles featuring an exploration, mining or infrastructure project we visited during our annual WhyAfrica Road Trip in Africa? Can you imagine advertising in such a virtual reality magazine or in its gaming application? With new technology and Artificial Intelligence, that day is a lot closer than anybody can imagine.
In addition to exploring, I also love books and magazines, and despite my discovery of the Metaverse and my realisation of the massive impact it will have on old school printed magazines and even (newish) interactive digital magazines, communication, marketing campaigns and advertising, WhyAfrica still produces 4 magazines per year and will do so for the next few years, even if our readers will be able to actually walk through our mind-blowing virtual magazines in the Metaverse in the not too distant future.
Magazines delivered to conferences
Remember all our magazines are still available in digital format and our January, July and November issues are printed and delivered to decision makers at various events, conferences and during site visits across Africa throughout the year. The July issue (250+ copies) travels with us on the WhyAfrica Road Trip through 6 African countries where we personally hand them out to the decision makers that really matters.
Our April issue is a jampacked digital magazine that is showcased on the homepage of our website for 4 months and is available to read on all WhyAfrica’s platforms.
If you want to advertise in our 16th WhyAfrica magazine, the deadline is 20 April, and we still have a lot of space available.
If you want to feature in our bi-weekly newsletters give us a call. We’ve just sent out our 108th newsletter. If you are not subscribed to get it via email here it is: https://mailchi.mp/885323e8e032/whyafrica-newsletter-issue-14182187?e=a31feab6c3
In picture is a package of November 2024 and January 2025 issues full of original images, business intelligence and stories of exploration and projects across Africa ready to be delivered to a client. Contact WhyAfrica if you want printed copies for your office.
